Research model for: Evaluating early intervention programs and services

The topic of early intervention is considered one of the modern topics that are being raised in the field of special education and other fields related to disability, due to its expected benefit in terms of prevention and rehabilitation.

Therefore, early intervention services have witnessed remarkable development recently, and the number of related institutions and centers has increased. To ensure the quality of special education services in Jordan, the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities launched accreditation standards for early intervention programs and centers to confirm the extent to which the inputs and outputs of the services and programs provided by that institution conform to the quality standards of these centers.

Therefore, researcher and applied behavior analyst Mahmoud Al-Shiyab undertook a study entitled “Evaluating Early Intervention Programs and Services in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Light of the Standards of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” for several purposes, including:

• Developing a reliable and consistent tool to measure compliance with the accreditation standards set by the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
• Analysis of the current situation of early intervention programs and services.
• Identifying the shortcomings and reasons that prevent centers and institutions from implementing those standards.
• The effectiveness of early intervention center services and programs.
• Providing recommendations for service development to ensure service quality and program effectiveness.

The study was implemented in 2019-2020, on all early intervention centers and institutions in all governorates, and the standards were applied to these centers and institutions and all individuals working in them, in addition to the families of students enrolled in these centers.

The study was conducted to achieve both theoretical and practical aspects, but the researcher limited himself to verifying the theoretical aspect and the practical application was not completed due to exceptional circumstances that prevented the researcher from completing it.
